Nutrition/Diet for Anxiety
An under-appreciated and lesser known trigger of anxiety is nutritional deficiencies and imbalanced diet. For example, ups and downs in blood sugar during the day can cause symptoms such as lightheadedness, dizziness, sweating, shortness of breath, fatigue, jittery feelings, brain fog. These symptoms can overlap with anxiety, exacerbate anxiety, or even trigger the brain into feeling anxiety or panic.
Other dietary triggers of anxiety include stimulants, caffeine, sugars, food sensitivities, allergies, or nutritional imbalances. Imbalanced blood sugar can cause the body to release stress hormone cortisol. Our programs look at these things closely to help you create an optimal diet to support well-being. We take a look together at your daily routines and schedule to identify areas that could use some support. We help you to incorporate self-care that fits your life and needs. Eg. meditations, exercises, visualizations, anchors throughout your day, mindset, sleep hygiene, etc. Inadequate sleep prevents the body from being able to manage and tolerate daily stressors on the system.
