Are you looking for an acupuncturist or have you been thinking of trying acupuncture? Here are three things to look for when deciding who do make an appointment with:
Experience and Credentials: You want to make sure they are licensed to practice in the state of Massachusetts by the Board of Medicine. In order to be licensed, an acupuncturist will have attended a 3-4 year graduate program at an accredited acupuncture school and have passed all of their board exams.
Treats Your Specific Condition: Acupuncture can treat a variety of conditions and symptoms. You want to ask if they’ve had experience treating your particular condition before. Some acupuncturists will specialize in specific conditions. Eg. Women’s Health
Do You Feel Comfortable with this Person: Before setting a patient up with an appointment, I typically offer a free initial phone consultation to make sure we are a good fit for each other. Acupuncture is a commitment, and requires multiple sessions to be effective and for results to last. You will be forming a relationship with your practitioner and it’s best to get a sense of who they are and how you feel around them prior to booking an appointment. Ideally you want to feel that this person can help facilitate your healing.
I’ve had a thriving practice in the Brookline area since 2008. If you’d like to set up a free consultation over the phone to ask any questions about Acupuncture and find out how it may help you, call me at (617) 281-8532 or email at Nicole@SageBostonAcupuncture.com
Looking forward to guiding you on your journey toward good health and well-being.
